French parents
Mission
of the Regroupement des parents francophones du Nunavut is to support parents and children by offering services, resources and a voice so that they can thrive in French.
Vision
Franco-Nunavummiut families are engaged, supported and equipped in their educational, cultural and community roles, enabling them to develop fully in French.
Valeurs
Pijitsirniq – Serving family and community.
Tunnganarniq – Promote a good state of mind by being open, welcoming and inclusive.
Piliriqatigiingniq – Working together towards a common goal.
Pilimmaksarniq – Developing skills through practice, effort and action.
Activities
- To provide a place for parents and children in Nunavut to meet, gather and share in French.
- To represent the interests of parents, to advocate on their behalf, according to their needs.
- Strengthen parents’ skills and competencies, while respecting their role as primary educators.
- Collaborate, through partnerships, to create a continuum of programs and services for parents and their families, from the prenatal period to the post-secondary level.
Petite enfance en santé
Through the program ‘ Petite enfance en santé”, the group offers several activities, including:
- RPFN Sundays (physical and intellectual activities, learning workshops and leisure activities for children aged 0-6).
- Conferences for parents.
